What I want to go to college for is elementary school teaching. I have chosen this because I love kids, I've always wanted to be a teacher since I was in third grade, and I realized how much I like working with elementary school kids since I started working at the daycare I am currently working at. No other career has ever really fit me like elementary school teaching. people have tried to make me look at other careers, but I’ve had my mind up since third grade, and if you know me, once I set my mind to it, I don’t stop till I get what I want.
When I was younger, I loved helping kids younger than me. When I was in elementary school, I helped walk kid’s home, babysat a lot, and even went to classes to help with their reading. I begged my teachers to let me go help the other kids during the last hour at school. As soon at it was three o'clock, I would pack up my stuff and rush down to the second and third grade rooms. Looking back on it, I'm surprised and thankful that my teachers allowed this and helped me realize at a young age what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
